In the home of Nazareth, as Mary works at her spinning and Joseph at his carpentry, Jesus studies the Scriptures. He looks up excited to share the insight he has, as if to teach his parents. On the floor near him is a cross, prefiguring the fulfillment of his mission. On the wall are plaques symbolic of the tablets of the ten commandments. The three haloes indicate that all the members of the family of Nazareth share in the one mission of the All Holy Savior.
