St. Joseph Chapel

On March 19, 1882, feast of St. Joseph, the St. Joseph Association of Barcelona began work on the crypt of the enormous Holy Family Basilica which is still under construction. Antoni Gaudí dedicated decades of his life to this work of faith, in the confidence that St. Joseph would finish the church. The St. Joseph Chapel is the central one of seven chapels in the crypt. The inscription reads “Sancte Joseph, Ora pro nobis” (St. Joseph, Pray for us).
