“Consolateur des Affliges” is the French translation of the Latin title “Solatium Miserorum,” found in the Litany of St. Joseph. Various English versions are: “Consolation of the Afflicted,” “Patron of the Afflicted,” “Our Solace in Suffering,” “Solace of the Suffering,” or traditionally “Solace of the Afflicted.” One of eight wall panels in the votive chapel near the crypt-church of the Oratory.
