As we begin the New Year, this is such a wonderful time to recall God’s presence in our life and how he has been so good to us over the last 12 months. For the Oblates of St. Joseph around the world—and especially in the United States—this last year has been full of many blessings and challenges: the formation of the Holy Spouses Province in the United States, the election of Pope Francis, the appointment of Fr. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., as our Provincial, World Youth Day in Brazil, many transfers of brothers and priests, and so many more.
We are grateful to all of our beloved friends for their presence and support in our lives during this past momentous year, and we look forward to the many graces and blessings that God has in store for us all in 2014. May Mary, the Mother of God, whose solemnity we celebrate today be your sure guide and example. May St. Joseph watch over you and protect you. And may they both lead you into a closer relationship with Jesus our Lord!
Happy New Year!
